ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Southern, Ca. Mexican-American self-taught artist Gabriela is 1 of 5 children born to immigrant parents. Her childhood consisted of staring at polaroids of her mother’s stylish wardrobes of the 1960s and 70s, playing dress up from her grandmother’s closet to cutting her barbie’s hair. It wasn’t till her teens when she took French as an elective that her professor gifted her boxes of French Vogue magazines that she knew that she had found her calling.

Wanting to break away from certain expectations a rebellious spirit emerged. She began creating from learning to sew on her grandmother’s old singer machine, to styling hair and makeup .

Early adulthood, she made the decision to raise her kid with the promise that she would in time pursue her career in beauty/fashion.

She launched her design label Lola76 and afterwards began freelancing as a makeup artist for Smashbox, and Clarins and taking private clients for special events. She became a licensed cosmetologist and has been steadily working on set . She credits her parents for her work ethics and her struggles to become resilient.
